Ortho Freeze was founded in 2020 by Mark Malone, a Physical Therapist with 31 years of clinical experience. After three decades of treating chronic pain patients — and watching too many of them escalated to opioid prescriptions for routine joint and muscle complaints — Mark set out to build the topical he wished he could hand to his own patients.
The U.S. opioid epidemic continues to take more than 80,000 lives per year from overdose, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2023). A meaningful share of those exposures begin with a prescription written for ordinary musculoskeletal pain. Ortho Freeze exists to give patients and providers a clinically credible, non-systemic option to reach for first.
